Agricultural Safety
Promoting safe practices in agriculture
In Canada, an average of 115 people are killed and 1,500 hospitalized because of farm-related accidents each year. By taking precautions to make your operation safer, you could save money, time and lives.
Farm Safety Quiz
With information, training and support of Canadian Agricultural Safety Week, FCC is working hard to increase awareness about the importance of practising farm safety. Implementing a farm safety plan is a lot like implementing a business plan. It needs to get done and with the right information, it’s easier than you think.
Take the FCC Farm Safety Quiz and learn how implementing a farm safety plan can save you money. FCC, CASA and the Canadian Federation of Agriculture have worked together to bring safety information you can use in our online quiz.
FCC Ag Safety Fund
Does your charitable or not-for-profit group provide safety training related to agriculture? Together, FCC and the Canadian Agriculture Safety Association (CASA) help finance programs aimed at keeping agriculture operators, entrepreneurs and employees safe at work. Eligible projects include those directed toward individuals or train-the-trainer programs.
FCC is pleased to once again partner with CASA to help promote safety in Canadian agriculture and agribusiness operations.
Recipients of funding for 2012-13 programs will be notified in February. Watch this site for a full list of successful applicants in spring 2012.
