2012 FCC AgriSpirit Fund Eligibility Guidelines
What qualifies?
For your project to be considered for funding, your organization must be at least one of the following:
- a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency
- a registered non-profit organization
- a municipal body (a municipal body can include a town, city under 100,000 people, a rural municipality or a First Nations band)
- a non-profit organization that will partner with a municipal body who agrees to receive the money contributed and issue a receipt in their name
and your project must:
- enhance the vitality of rural Canada
- be completed between December 1,2012 and December 31, 2014
- be accessible to all members of the community
- be a capital project (equipment, building funds, etc.)
- be located in rural Canada
- benefit a rural community with a population less than 100,000 people
- recognize FCC’s contribution and allow FCC to put up a permanent sign
FCC will not support organizations or projects that:
- take place outside of Canada or do not benefit residents of Canada
- have received financial support from the FCC AgriSpirit Fund in the past four years (2008 through 2011)
- contribute to operating costs or debt reduction
- raise funds for a charity through private foundations or third parties (Lion's Club, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, etc.)
- are taking place in support of individual endeavors
- only provide benefits to members of a particular religion, political party or social organization
- are undertaken by organizations whose primary focus is advocating a particular religious, social, moral, political or economic point of view
- are likely to adversely impact the environment
Additional information
- FCC employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to complete the application for AgriSpirit funding
- only online applications will be evaluated
- the completion of an environmental assessment may be required as part of the evaluation process
- selected projects must sign a letter of agreement with FCC and show documentation of project completion
- FCC Funds can not be used to cover expenses that have been incurred prior to being notified of receiving AgriSpirit Funding.
