FCC Aboriginal Student Empowerment Fund
Help, when you need it most
Balancing school and personal expenses isn’t easy. That’s why you should know about the FCC Aboriginal Student Empowerment Fund. Open to Aboriginal students attending one of four Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions – First Nations University of Canada, University of Regina, Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology and Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (Wascana and Palliser campuses) – the fund can provide you with up to $1,000 for basic needs any time during the semester. Eligibility is based on need, not academic performance.
Aboriginal students who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:
• full-time student
• self-declared aboriginal ancestry
• complies with your post-secondary institution’s minimum requirements
This fund is here to help with basic needs:
• bus pass
• child care
• clothing
• damage deposit
• groceries
• lap top
• rent
• school supplies
• utilities
The fund was developed in partnership with aboriginal support centres from all four institutions. The institutions will accept applications and distribute funding.
