Le Conseil acadien de Rustico represents the Acadian and Francophone community of the region of Rustico, Prince Edward Island. Le Conseil acadien de Rustico's mission is to ensure the development and promotion of cultural programming and to represent the cultural, historic, economic, educational and political interests of the region's Acadian and Francophone population. Funds will go towards developing a natural playground for Saint-Augustin School’s day care and kindergarten “Les Petits Rayons de Soleil”.

Earthwise Society, Delta, British Columbia – $4,000
The Earthwise Society educates individuals about choices they can make that lead to stewardship of our natural resources and the environment. Earthwise operates a demonstration garden of landscape practices, community allotment gardens, and an organic teaching farm in Tsawwassen. Funds will be used to translate Earthwise’s Ecotour program into French, enabling Francophone and French immersion students in the Delta and Surrey regions access to resources on applying environmental stewardship in agriculture and gardening.

La société pré-maternelle Les Petits du Pacifique, Sechelt, British Columbia – $6,000
The Société prématernelle Les Petits du Pacifique is a childcare program for pre-school children who are eligible to enter the the Francophone Program operated by the Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Colombie-Britannique. Funds will be used to construct the facility’s indoor and outdoor play equipment and to purchase books and other educational materials for the centre.

Laurentian Caregiver Association Resource Centre, Val Morin, Quebec - $5,000
The Laurentian Caregiver Association and Resource Centre (Laurentians C.A.R.E.) is a non-profit organization created to provide assistance and support to Anglophone Caregivers and care receivers in the Laurentians. The mission is to fulfill the need for accessible health services to Anglophone communities by establishing a connection between community and a well supported network of caregivers. Funds will be used to purchase materials in order to implement the Shared Memories Garden community project. This is a day care-based project to provide respite for caregivers and persons with dementia.

Le Centre culturel franco-manitobain, Winnipeg, Manitoba – $6,500
Le Centre culturel franco-manitobain is a not-for-profit organization created to present, promote, foster and sponsor cultural and artistic activities in the French language for all Manitobans. Funds will be used to furnish space that was recently renovated to host cultural and artistic activities in French.

100% Actifs : activités parascolaires’ mission is to offer all nine to 12-year-olds in the Hawkesbury area the opportunity to participate in various sports and cultural activities. Funds will be used to produce a directory of French-speaking activities offered in the area.

Stanstead County Agricultural Society operates the county’s historical agricultural fair and the buildings which host this and other community events. Funds will be used to restore fairground buildings to their historical form.

Table de concertation régionale du Centre, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Manitoba – $3,500
The Table de concertation régionale du Centre works to ensure that health care and social services are available in French in central Manitoba. Funds will be used to raise awareness among young people in the area through the use of plays, a forum, video production and workshops. These activities are intended to encourage young people to make good choices where their health is concerned.

Théâtre la Catapulte, Ottawa, Ontario – $7,000
The Théâtre la Catapulte is a company involved in theatre research, development and creation. With roots in French-speaking Ontario, it offers contemporary arts experiences powered by the dynamic spirit of new and emerging artists. Funds will be used to cover part of the costs of producing Marcel Dubé’s Zone, in particular those related specifically to the tour of this production in French rural Ontario.
